Prayer wall art is a beautiful way to display and remind yourself of your faith during the day.
You may be looking for a Lord's Prayer picture or perhaps a more simple prayer wall decor piece. The great news is that we have a range of different styles to choose from.
Praying is an important part of the Christian faith, so hanging reminders around your living areas will serve as a sign to continue speaking to God. Before we get into our praying wall art product offers, let’s take a look at the relevance of praying in the Christian household.
Why We Pray
Keeping reminders of God's Word close to your home and heart is always a good idea. And showing signs of praying as you enter a space is a great way to do this.
But why is praying so important? This act dates back to the beginning of Christianity.
The Bible Tells Us to Pray
God not only suggests that we pray on a regular basis, but he actually commands it. In the book of Romans 12:12 we are told, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Ephesians 6:18 is even clearer on the subject, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
This makes it clear that God doesn’t just want us to pray, he wants us to bring anything and everything that’s on our minds to him. God can handle a problem of any size, if you let Him.
Jesus Prayed
God’s Son spent a large portion of every day praying to His Father, which we should take as a sign that it’s crucial that we take time out of our days to pray too. This can be seen in many verses throughout the Bible.
In Matthew 14:23, the Bible says “After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.” We can see that Jesus took time away from his disciples and responsibilities just to speak to his Father.
In Mark 1:35, we can see that Jesus spent time praying even when it wasn’t convenient to do so - “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Jesus felt close to God when he spoke to Him, and we can too.
Praying is Communicating with God
Being able to talk to our God offers Christians the ability to feel closer to Him and often results in a more peaceful feeling, knowing he's listening and there to help. This can be done from anywhere, in the privacy of our home, or while we’re out and about during the day.
We can talk to God about anything, and ask for his guidance and help. This can be seen in Isiah 40:29-31, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
We know that if we take our troubles to God and let Him help us, everything will eventually be right again, in His time.
Praying Keeps You Humble
God wants us to stay humble and to understand that we are not in control, but He is. This is something that comes across so evidently in Matthews 18:4, “Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Prayer is an Art That Gives You Power Over Evil
God wants us to triumph over the evil in our lives as we fight battles in the spiritual realm. Ephesians 6:12 makes it clear that our battles in life are not physical ones - “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
In Matthew 26:41 we find out that praying can help us triumph over these temptations and obstacles in our lives “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

Praying Wall Artwork Uses
Praying art of this kind can be used to hang on a wall in your house, or as decor in a prayer room. It’s always nice to have art that sets the mood and gives you something to think about during your prayer time.
Many of the pieces from my praying wall art collection depict hands clasped, or a figure kneeling to pray. This would be appropriate for a bedroom wall within the home, or a specific room designed for praying in to remind us of Jesus. They are easy to hang up and take down, though, so you can change their location without hassle.
